The Crossover Feature

Crossover is an optional feature available to subscribers of select health plans. With Crossover, you can eliminate the need to file a paper claim with SelectAccount for out-of-pocket expenses not covered by your high-deductible health plan. As expenses are incurred and your health claims are processed, the patient responsibility amounts will be electronically transferred from your health plan to SelectAccount and processed according to your available account balance. If your claims exceed the balance in your account, we will hold the claims for up to one year and reimburse you as additional funds become available.

Prescription Drug Expenses — Withdrawn from Your Account at the Pharmacy

Depending on your health plan, pharmacies may be able to withdraw prescription drug expenses directly from your account. If you are responsible for part of the cost of your prescription and there is enough money in your account to cover the entire amount that you owe, you will not be asked to pay at the participating pharmacy.

If there is not enough money in the account to cover the entire balance of the prescription, you will be asked to pay for the difference between the money accessible in your account and the balance owed in order to receive the prescription. You must file a paper claim with SelectAccount to receive the difference when further contributions are made to your account.

For example, if you have a prescription for $500 and there is only $300 available in your account (not enough to cover the entire cost of the prescription), the crossover payment would cover the first $300 of that prescription and you must pay the remaining $200 at the pharmacy. If you wish to be reimbursed through your account for the remaining $200, you will need to file a paper claim with SelectAccount for the $200 balance. SelectAccount will "pend" the paper claim until further contributions are made to the account to cover the cost of the $200 balance. Full or partial payments will be made to cover the $200 balance as they become available.
